Almost everything runs locally
Except for the 4 AI tools (summary / translation / Q&A / to Markdown), every tool runs 100% in your browser — compress, merge, split, rotate, delete pages, watermark, encrypt, crop, to image / Word, OCR, and more. Your files are never uploaded to our servers or any third party, and we have no way to access their contents. You can even disconnect from the internet and keep using these tools to verify this.
AI tools: only extracted text is sent
The AI features — PDF → Markdown, summary, translation, Q&A, plus PDF → Word's optional AI re-flow — call the DeepSeek language model. We send only the plain text extracted from your PDF, never the original file. The text is discarded after the request completes; we do not store your document content long-term.
Rate-limiting data
To prevent abuse, AI tools have a daily per-visitor limit. We identify visitors using an irreversible hash of your IP address and browser signature — we do not store your raw IP address.
What we don't collect
We don't collect your name, email, phone, or other personally identifying information, and we use no third-party advertising or tracking cookies. We use a single cookie to remember your chosen interface language (中文 / English).
Third-party services
AI features are powered by DeepSeek. When you use an AI tool, the extracted text is sent to DeepSeek for processing, subject to its privacy terms. Once paid subscriptions launch, payments are handled by third-party payment providers; we never touch your card details.
Technical data when you visit the website
When you visit moguanpdf.com, as with any website, our hosting and CDN provider (Vercel) processes some technical data in server logs (such as your IP address, browser/device signature, request time, and the pages you access) to keep the service secure, debug issues, and operate normally. We embed no third-party advertising or analytics-tracking scripts, and set no tracking cookies beyond the single interface-language cookie. This technical data is not used to profile you or to serve ads.
Data controller and your rights (GDPR)
MoguanPDF (moguanpdf.com) is operated by an independent developer, who is the data controller for this site under the GDPR. If you are in a region where the GDPR or similar laws apply, you have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data relating to you, or to object to its processing — though note that classic tools run entirely in your browser, so we never receive your files, and AI tools process only extracted text which is discarded after use.
