Nothing to install · your files never leave your browser

MoGuan PDF

A local PDF toolkit built for people who handle sensitive documents. Compress, merge, split, edit, and convert all run inside your browser — files are never uploaded to any server. A lawyer's contract, an HR resume, a finance report: none of it should be uploaded to someone else's cloud first.

Moguan PDF is a privacy-first PDF toolkit: 33 tools, all free, all in the browser — no signup, nothing to install. Its 27 classic tools (merge, split, compress, encrypt, redact, OCR and more) have no file-upload path in the code and keep working offline; the 5 AI tools and the optional “AI reflow” inside PDF-to-Word send only the plain text already extracted in your browser to DeepSeek — your original PDF is never uploaded.

Why MoGuan

Files never leave your computer

Compress, merge, split, rotate, delete pages, watermark, crop… these tools all run inside your browser — the original file is never uploaded, and they work offline. By contrast, iLovePDF and Smallpdf upload your file to their servers first, then process it (typically kept for an hour or two). For contracts, resumes, and reports, one fewer upload is one less chance of a leak.

AI that reads the document, when you want it

DeepSeek can detect document boundaries, suggest filenames, summarize, translate, answer questions, and re-flow extracted text — only text is sent, never the original PDF or page images.

Every tool free · zero install · open and go

All 33 tools are free and unlimited, with nothing crippled. No signup, no download, no environment to set up — open the page and go, and files save straight back to your device. The UI is bilingual, and AI prompts are tuned for Chinese content too.

FAQ

Do my files get uploaded to your servers?

Most tools (compress / merge / split / rotate / delete / watermark / crop / encrypt / to image, etc.) run 100% in your browser — nothing is sent anywhere. Only when you actively choose an AI mode (such as smart split suggestions / summary / translate / Q&A / to Markdown, plus PDF→Word's optional AI re-flow) is extracted text sent to a language model — never the original PDF or page images — and the UI tells you before doing so. Smart split's local manual mode sends no document content.

What are the free-tier limits?

All 33 tools are free and unlimited — nothing is crippled, and no signup is required. Only the AI features have a daily quota: 5 uses per feature per day without an account; signing in raises the free tier to 30 translated pages, 20 Q&A turns, 10 summaries, 10 Markdown conversions and 10 smart splits per day. Pro buys larger quotas and higher file-size limits — it does not unlock features.

Does it support Chinese PDFs?

Yes. The UI is bilingual, and AI summary, translation, and Q&A work well on Chinese content. Scanned-document OCR uses a local tesseract engine for Chinese and English, running entirely in your browser with no upload.

How much can compression save?

Standard mode (keeps text searchable) typically saves 10–30%. Strong mode (full-page rasterization, text becomes image) usually saves 60–80% — great for scans.

What's the file size limit?

It depends on the tool: text extraction (Markdown / Q&A / summary / Excel) supports up to 200MB per file, the same on Free and Pro; PDF-to-image and Split allow 100MB in browsers with streaming save (Chrome / Edge) and 50MB elsewhere; other tools are 50MB on Free, and the structural editors (sign, to-Word and similar) go to 100MB on Pro. Compression and OCR rasterize whole pages, so their 50MB ceiling is the browser engine's memory limit — Pro does not raise it.

How is this different from iLovePDF / Smallpdf?

The biggest difference is privacy: MoGuan's classic tools (compress/merge/split/rotate/delete/watermark/crop, etc.) run 100% in your browser — the original file is never uploaded to any server, and they work offline — whereas iLovePDF and Smallpdf upload your file to their servers first, then process it (typically kept for an hour or two). MoGuan also needs no login or install; and its AI tools send only the extracted text, never the original PDF.
